The FreeStyle Libre 2 system is covered publicly in most provinces across Canada and privately by most health insurance companies5.

The FreeStyle Libre 2 app is only compatible with certain mobile devices and operating systems. Please check the website for more information about device compatibility before using the app. Use of FreeStyle Libre 2 app requires registration with LibreView.

*Medically eligible New Brunswickers living with Type 1 diabetes and with Type 2 diabetes on intensive insulin therapy, requiring 3 or more insulin injections per day can receive financial support for the FreeStyle Libre 2 system through the New Brunswick Insulin Pump Program. ‡ Notifications will only be received when alarms are turned on and the sensor is within 6 meters unobstructed of the reading device.

§ Alberta residents 18 years and over with diabetes and are enrolled in a government-sponsored health benefit plan are eligible for provincial reimbursement if they require ongoing use of an insulin pump, or if they use a basal and bolus insulin, or a premixed insulin.
